Here is what my garden looks like on DAY 4 of being flooded. Needless to say my garden will be a complete replant. However, the iris are blooming beautifully though. Something pretty out there!

Have you ever really observed these things? They are right out of a science fiction movie. We had one for a day thanks to our close neighbor and friend Brandy. It was fun and kind of wierd housing this Praying Mantis.

From Jefferson to West DSM
Saturday our 'boys' headed off on a 62 mile trek to DSM. I am so proud of all who did it! Three of the adventuring spirits had to leave the trail at Adel due to a minor off road collision with very aggressive weeds. The other 6 made it all the way to Barnes & Noble on University in DSM. That is AWESOME! Mission completed. I hear rumor we will be doing it again...because I wasn't able to join them due to a scehduled conflict...I'm so EXCITED to go! Perhaps we can do Ragbrai next year?
