PEG DAY has begun! Once a year, sometimes more, in a tiny little rural town, you can hear the sound of laughter, see the energy of creative minds at work, and feel the fellowship of friends and family come together. It is what we have come to know as, "PEG DAY"...where on any given day in July we dig deep into the closets, drawers, and kids' room to find those "don't know what-to-do with treasures" and incorporate them into a craft project. Well, this year was no exception, with the aid and inspiration of the July/August issue of Family Fun, the annual "Peg Day" began. We set out to make Sand Hands with plaster in our backyard sandbox. Euipped with sand, drift wood, shells, letters, marbles, plaster, odd trinkets, beads, and everything but the kitchen sink we set out to make our creations. It was also the kick-off day for having a niece and nephew here for a summer fun week with my boys. I must confess, it was a FABULOUS FUN FILLED activity. I am confident, we will have to do a 'replay' of it soon just because it was so much fun and because we were missing some of the original participants of my official craft holiday. What I do know is, EVERYONE should get together with friends and family for no other reason than to share time together. Hats off to some of my fabulous friends and family!
